Job Summary:

The University of Kansas Health System seeks a highly skilled and detail-oriented Infant Nutrition Specialist to join our Neonatal ICU team. As an integral member of our team, you will be responsible for preparing, labeling, and storing expressed breast milk and formula, as well as performing other infant nutrition-related duties.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare infant feeds using aseptic technique while ensuring nutritional precision.
  • Maintain the Milk Preparation Room equipment and supplies related to providing nutrition to infants.
  • Ensure a clean and tidy work environment in the Milk Prep Room, free from clutter.
  • Review orders for infant nutrition and clarify with staff as necessary.
  • Calculate ordered feed volumes and additives for infant feeds accurately.
  • Provide education to home-caregivers on infant nutrition preparation prior to patient discharge.
  • Perform professional, clinical, and technical competencies of the assigned unit or department.

Requirements:

  • High School Graduate
  • Pass a written math calculation test

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Associates Degree or higher in nutrition or a related field

Certifications:

  • Basic Life Support Heartsaver (BLS HS) - American Heart Association (AHA)

Essential Skills:

  • Team player with excellent communication skills
  • Ability to work on a computer
  • Good work ethic
