Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Security Support Specialist to join our team at General Dynamics NASSCO. As a Security Support Specialist, you will provide administrative support in all phases of the Security Office, ensuring the productivity and schedule of all production and service departments.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and issue badges for new employees, temporary employees, subcontractors, vendors, and visitors in accordance with access control and risk management procedures.
  • Verify security documents and process badges for new hire employees and rehires.
  • Verify visit requests and approve regular visitors to NASSCO, maintaining and processing boarding lists for employee and subcontractor access to USN repair vessels.
  • Process DBIDS credential applications to access various USN base installations.
  • Process foreign visitor badges that comply with all export (ITAR/EAR) regulations.
  • Interact with visitors and employees, provide directions, and respond to inquiries.
  • Provide staff coverage at Building 1 Lobby Reception.
  • Distribute parking lot decals and facility vehicle requests consistent with Manager's policies, maintaining a comprehensive parking lot decal database.
  • Program, activate, and deactivate NASSCO temporary badges.
  • Clear terminated employees.
  • Handle problem calls as needed.
  • Provide excellent customer service at the Security Office counter.
  • Administrate all overspray claims.
  • Perform other responsibilities and duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • High school graduate or equivalent, with some college-level work in business management or related coursework a plus.
  • One to two years of administrative or security-related work experience preferred.
  • Basic knowledge and understanding of security access procedures through work experience.
  • Good interpersonal and excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to handle stressful situations, perform work responsibilities, and resolve security access issues and inquiries under moderate supervision.
  • Actively participate in implementing and monitoring continuous improvement initiatives to improve safety, quality, reduce cycle time, and reduce costs.
