Role Overview
The Classroom Teacher is a key member of the school community, responsible for delivering high-quality education to students. This role involves planning, preparing, and teaching programs to achieve specific student outcomes, as well as engaging in critical reflection and inquiry to improve knowledge and skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement curriculum programs to meet the diverse needs of students
- Model exemplary classroom practice and mentor/coach other teachers to engage in critical reflection of their practice
- Provide expert advice on content, processes, and strategies to support individual and school professional learning
- Supervise and train student teachers
- Assist staff to use student data to inform teaching approaches and achieve targets related to improving student learning outcomes
Requirements
- Provisional or full registration from the Victorian Institute of Teaching
- Demonstrated experience in the curriculum area(s) specified for the position
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Capacity to adapt to changing circumstances and priorities
