Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Electrical Engineer to join our team at Naval Facilities Engineering Command. As an Electrical Engineer, you will be responsible for performing quality assurance reviews of drawings, specifications, calculations, cost estimates, and studies prepared by private architectural and engineering (A/E) design firms.

You will also perform technical administration of design, design management, and coordination efforts with other engineers and architects involved in multi-discipline projects. Additionally, you will act as the focal point for submittal review and ensure that comments are resolved and incorporated in a design.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform quality assurance reviews of drawings, specifications, calculations, cost estimates, and studies prepared by private A/E design firms.
  • Perform technical administration of design, design management, and coordination efforts with other engineers and architects involved in multi-discipline projects.
  • Act as the focal point for submittal review and ensure that comments are resolved and incorporated in a design.
  • Participate on slate and selection boards for the procurement of A/E services and Technical Evaluation Teams (TETs) for the procurement of design and construction services.
  • Make recommendations for corrective/preventative measures as appropriate, and prepare sketches or change order drawings, cost estimates, and specifications.

Requirements:

  • Specialized experience must demonstrate adhering to local, state, federal, and/or foreign country laws, codes, and other statutory requirements affecting electrical engineering design.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of related architectural and engineering fields and their associated impacts as related to electrical engineering design.
  • Use Autodesk software, Microsoft Office products, electrical engineering design and analysis software, and other applicable computer programs and software used in the field.
  • Budgeting, planning, and project management techniques with the ability to coordinate the work of others and lead teams, as well as make oral presentations of proposed designs and results of studies.

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering.
  • Or combination of education and experience that furnished a thorough knowledge of the physical and mathematical sciences underlying engineering, and a good understanding, both theoretical and practical, of the engineering sciences and techniques and their applications to one of the branches of engineering.
