Operating Room Surgical Technologist Opportunity

UPMC Hamot's Operating Room is seeking a skilled Surgical Technologist to join our team in our Weekend Program. This full-time position offers a 20% differential and eligibility for full-time benefits.

We have a 17-suite operating room that provides a wide range of specialties, including robotics, kidney transplants, trauma, and more. Our team provides high-quality care for both elective and urgent patients, from infants to geriatrics. You will have the opportunity to work with world-class surgeons and anesthesiologists from across the country.

We offer a generous sign-on bonus for full-time Surgical Technologists, with amounts varying based on years of experience. Please visit our website to learn more about this role and careers in Surgical Services.

Responsibilities:
  • Prepare the operating room for surgical procedures by setting up sterile instruments and equipment.
  • Pass instruments and supplies to surgeons and surgical assistants during procedures.
  • Assist in the preparation and care of specimens for laboratory analysis.
  • Help apply dressings and assist with patient transfers to the recovery room.
  • Ensure a clean and safe environment through continued alertness to safety and aseptic technique.
Requirements:
  • Completion of a formal surgical technician program.
  • 0-2 years of experience in a healthcare setting.
  • CPR certification and Act 31 Child Abuse Reporting clearance.
