Responsibilities- Prepare the operating room for surgical procedures by setting up sterile equipment, instruments, and supplies.
- Assist the surgical team by passing instruments, sponge, and suture to surgeons and surgical assistants.
- Prepare and maintain a clean and safe environment throughout the operating room.
- Transport patients to and from the operating room, ensuring their safety and comfort.
- Participate in the preparation, care, and disposal of specimens taken for laboratory analysis.
- Collaborate with the surgical team to ensure aseptic technique and maintain a sterile environment.
- Completion of a formal surgical technician program offered by a community or junior college, vocational school, university, hospital, or the military.
- Current certification or eligibility for certification as a Surgical Technologist.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and maintain a high level of concentration during surgical procedures.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
