As a Carrier Sales Supervisor, your primary responsibility will be to drive the success of our business objectives through effective sales strategies. This includes overseeing a freight portfolio from initiation to completion, negotiating and establishing freight rates, nurturing relationships with carriers, and utilizing your industry expertise to guide critical decision-making.
- Develop and negotiate competitive freight rates with motor carriers and the internal sales team to maximize profitability.
- Align customer freight needs with the available capacity of motor carriers.
- Deliver consistent service and support to motor carriers to foster strong business relationships.
- Work closely with the Customer Sales team to enhance operational efficiencies.
- Manage performance expectations using carrier account metrics.
- Communicate effectively with motor carriers to schedule shipments and address any issues.
- Ensure all freight charges are verified, confirm receipt of the Bill of Lading, and resolve any discrepancies in payables before finalizing payments to motor carriers.
- Monitor discrepancies in the Bill of Lading to guarantee the proper return of commodities is organized as needed.
