Position Overview:
The Eatontown Police Department is actively seeking qualified candidates for the role of Special Law Enforcement Officer Class III.

Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure safety and security within designated educational institutions.
- Perform various tasks and assignments related to the safety and security of a specific school as directed by the Chief of Police.

Qualifications:
  • The candidate must be a retired Law Enforcement Officer, under 65 years of age, who has served as a fully trained, full-time Police Officer in any municipality or county within the state.
  • Must possess a valid New Jersey Driver's License.
  • Successful completion of a background investigation is required.
  • Residency in the State of New Jersey is mandatory during the term of appointment.
  • Must be in good health, certified by a licensed physician in New Jersey.
  • Must demonstrate good moral character and have no convictions that would impair the ability to perform job duties.
  • Physical capability to fulfill the responsibilities of the position in accordance with the Police Training Commission (PTC) standards.
  • While Safe School Resource Officer training can be provided, it is preferred that candidates already possess this training.

All applicants who successfully pass the review stage will be invited for oral interviews. Candidates receiving a conditional offer of employment will need to complete a medical examination, psychological evaluation, and drug screening. The Eatontown Police Department reserves the right to conduct interviews prior to the application deadline.
