Your Role
In this position, you will collaborate directly with roofing insulation manufacturers, assisting them in optimizing their utilization of our MDI and polyol products to produce high-performance polyiso boards.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver expert technical service and application support to polyiso roofing board manufacturers.
- Lead application-focused laboratory initiatives and field trials to enhance polyiso foam formulations.
- Troubleshoot and refine customer production processes for polyiso roofing boards, emphasizing the interaction between MDI, polyols, and other additives.
- Facilitate the deployment of new technologies and the development of product applications within the polyiso sector.
- Collaborate with account managers and the Technology and Innovation team to improve product applications.
- Document customer interactions, technical support, and application development efforts.
- Safeguard intellectual property associated with product applications.
- Conduct training sessions for clients on optimal application techniques for our MDI and polyol products.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Polymer Science, Materials Science, or a related discipline (Master's or Ph.D. preferred).
- Over 5 years of relevant experience in polyurethane applications, particularly in continuous rigid foam processes for roofing insulation.
- Demonstrated success in providing application engineering support to clients in the polyiso roofing sector.
- Comprehensive knowledge of MDI-based isocyanates, polyester polyols, and their formulation for rigid foam systems.
- Strong understanding of polyiso manufacturing processes and equipment.
- Experience with thermal insulation testing methodologies and building energy efficiency standards.
- Exceptional problem-solving abilities and a knack for optimizing formulations and processes.
- Strong project management skills (Six Sigma or Project Management certifications are advantageous).
- Excellent communication skills, capable of conveying complex technical concepts to diverse audiences.
- Willingness to travel up to 25-50% of the time for customer engagements and industry events.
