ResponsibilitiesPosition Summary:
The Physician Assistant specializing in Trauma and Orthopedic care plays a crucial role in delivering and coordinating medical services for patients in these specialties. This position is dedicated to ensuring that trauma patients receive the highest quality of care during their hospital stay. The Physician Assistant will act as an expert clinician and will also serve as a consultant, educator, and advocate for quality improvement.
Collaboration is key in this role, as the Physician Assistant will work closely with medical staff, nursing personnel, and other healthcare professionals, as well as patients and their families, to foster a team-oriented approach to patient care.
The Physician Assistant will report to the Trauma Program Director and will also have a connection to the Trauma Medical Director. Input in the creation of standardized procedures and protocols is expected, along with assistance to the Trauma Program Director in achieving departmental objectives.
Qualifications- At least 2 years of experience in an acute care setting, specifically with trauma, orthopedic, and ICU patients.
- Training in surgical and trauma care.
- Experience in first assisting and conducting health assessments of trauma patients.
- Current licensure as a Physician Assistant along with ACLS, PALS, and BLS certifications.
- Desirable skills include auditing ATLS competencies.
$90.24 /hour
