Job Description

In this esteemed position, you will have the chance to work with our long-established teaching Surgical Physician Assistant Residency program at Norwalk Hospital. As a key member of our team, you will supervise surgical residents and contribute to the growth of our Advanced Practitioner Service. This is an excellent opportunity to share your expertise and skills in various surgical specialties.

Responsibilities:

  • History and physical examinations
  • Pre- and post-operative care of patients
  • Active participation on the trauma team
  • Education and hands-on training of PA residents and students
  • OR assisting
Requirements

To succeed in this role, you should possess:

  • Baccalaureate degree
  • Graduate of an approved PA program and a post-graduate training program in surgery or equivalent experience
  • Knowledge of surgical critical care (preferred)
  • Current certification by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA)
  • Physician Assistant licensure
  • CT State Controlled Substance and Federal DEA Registration
  • ACLS & BLS certification
