Medical Assistant Orthopedics Specialist

The Medical Assistant will play a vital role in the coordination of direct patient care activities and provide clinical support to providers within our clinical practices.
Key Responsibilities- Check in patients, obtain vital signs, and perform medication reconciliation
- Obtain patient medical history information and expediting patient flow
- Room patients, stock clinic supplies, and navigate electronic health record systems
- Schedule and follow-up with appointments, assist with medication fill and refill requests, and check for prior authorizations
- Perform procedures such as EKG, phlebotomy, lab tests, and injections (once competency has been assessed)
- High School Diploma or General Education Equivalency
- Basic computer skills, specifically with navigating within databases containing highly confidential information
- Basic Life Support and other advanced training as appropriate to be received within 90 days
- One of the following: prior working experience in a medical office/clinic performing clinical MA duties, Certified MA from the National Health Career Association (NHA), or completed any MA education program but has not received certification as of yet
- Current MA Certification from AAMA, AMT, NAHP, NCCT, AAMP
- Graduate of an accredited LPN or RN program with current Licensure without restrictions
