As a Highway Construction Technician, you will engage in various tasks including:


Testing Responsibilities:
  • Conducting standard tests on construction materials such as concrete and soil to ensure compliance with specifications.
  • Performing tests to evaluate properties of materials.
  • Utilizing specialized equipment for soil density and moisture content analysis.

Inspection Duties:
  • Monitoring contractor activities on construction sites, ensuring adherence to plans and specifications.
  • Collecting and recording measurements accurately.
  • Assessing the quality of materials used in construction.

Surveying Tasks:
  • Participating in survey crews to establish construction site layouts.
  • Performing calculations and maintaining detailed survey records.

Qualifications:

Minimum Requirements:
  • Must be at least 18 years old with a valid driver's license.
  • Experience or education in construction-related fields is preferred.
