About the Job

We are seeking a skilled Certified Nursing Assistant to join our team at the State of Rhode Island. This role is an exciting opportunity to provide direct care and treatment to patients, exercising custody and supervision in accordance with nursing care and special treatment plans.

Job Description

The successful candidate will perform a variety of duties involved in providing direct care and treatment to patients, including:

  • Providing personal care to patients, such as baths, mouth care, perineal care, toiletry, hair care, and shaving.
  • Lifting and transferring patients to and from beds, chairs, stretchers, tubs, utilizing correct body mechanics, and personal safety techniques.
  • Making ward rounds and observing each patient's condition, reporting unusual occurrences and irregularities to a superior.
  • Measuring and recording patients' temperature (oral, rectal, axillary), pulse, respirations, height, weight, and intake and output.

The ideal candidate will have a working knowledge of patient care practices, including first aid, housekeeping, personal needs, minor treatments, and infection control. They will also be able to effectively apply this knowledge to the care, treatment, and custody of patients.

Required Skills and Qualifications

To be considered for this position, you must meet certified nursing assistant registration requirements as required by Rhode Island law and regulations and maintain such requirements as a condition of employment.

You should possess a valid RI Certified Nursing Assistant license and have training or employment involving the opportunity to gain familiarity with routine hospital or clinical patient care procedures.

Salary and Benefits

The salary for this position is approximately $43,000-$52,000 per year, depending on experience. In addition to a competitive salary, we offer a comprehensive benefits package, including health, dental, and vision insurance, retirement savings plan, and paid time off.

Please note that all candidates must meet pre-employment requirements, including proof of immunity against measles, mumps, and rubella (MMR), varicella (chickenpox), tetanus, diphtheria, and pertussis (Tdap), hepatitis B titers, and tuberculin skin test (TST).
