Network Security Specialist

Insight Global is seeking a highly skilled Network Security Specialist to join their IT team. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for protecting the company's network infrastructure against emerging threats.
The ideal candidate will have 7+ years of experience in information security, with a focus on network security, including firewall and secure perimeter technology. Strong hands-on experience with Zscaler (ZIA and ZPA) is also required.
The successful candidate will work closely with cross-functional teams to understand the business and technological needs of unique application infrastructure across a diverse cloud, on-premise, and SaaS environment. They will also be responsible for identifying areas for improvement in security processes, policies, and technologies and driving initiatives to enhance security effectiveness.
The Network Security Specialist will have strong diagnostic skills and experience with broad range of security tools and technologies. They will also have strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work closely with engineering, operations, and infrastructure teams.
This is a permanent role with full remote flexibility, and the successful candidate will be required to travel once a quarter on-site.
Responsibilities:- Develop, implement, and maintain network security policies aligned with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
- Deploy and configure Cisco security appliances, Palo Alto Networks firewalls, and Zscaler infrastructure to strengthen the network across the organization.
- Work with cross-functional teams to understand the business and technological needs of unique application infrastructure across a diverse cloud, on-premise, and SaaS environment.
- Identify areas for improvement in security processes, policies, and technologies and drive initiatives to enhance security effectiveness.
- Deploy, maintain availability of various security technologies, including intrusion prevention systems (IPS), web application firewalls (WAF), and provide engineering support to network detection and response solutions.
- Implement and manage network security monitoring tools for real-time threat detection and response.
- Optimize security configurations to support business-specific performance needs while retaining resilience against emerging threats.
- 7+ years of professional experience in information security, with a focus on network security, including firewall and secure perimeter technology.
- Strong hands-on experience with Zscaler (ZIA and ZPA).
- Experience with modern Infrastructure as Code tools, such as Terraform or Ansible.
- Strong diagnostic skills.
- Experience with broad range of security tools and technologies.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work closely with engineering, operations, and infrastructure teams.
- 2-3 years of experience working with cloud-native networking and security solutions found in Azure, AWS, GCP, etc.
- $100,000-$222,000 salary range.
