About the Role:

The Grounds Maintenance Manager will oversee the maintenance and upkeep of the Sunnyside Retirement Community grounds, ensuring a safe and welcoming environment for residents and staff. This role requires strong leadership and organizational skills, as well as the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and coordinate the work of grounds maintenance staff, including scheduling, training, and performance evaluations.
  • Develop and implement maintenance schedules and budgets to ensure efficient use of resources.
  • Inspect and maintain grounds equipment, including lawn mowers, trimmers, and other machinery.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless operations and effective communication.
  • Ensure compliance with safety protocols and regulations.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree in a related field preferred.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in grounds maintenance or a related field.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Physical ability to perform manual labor and lift up to 50 pounds.
