The role of Paralegal Supervisor encompasses the preparation of comprehensive wills and trusts, along with managing probate filings, guardianships, and contested cases. This position requires considerable client interaction, necessitating a candidate with a positive outlook, exceptional communication abilities, and a professional demeanor. A crucial aspect of this role involves exercising independent judgment and discretion, with the authority to make decisions impacting the legal operations of the team.
We foster a close-knit (yet expanding) team atmosphere and provide a family-friendly office environment, complemented by a competitive salary and benefits package. Compensation will be based on experience, with a salary range of $70,000 - $95,000, in addition to bonuses and benefits. Key Responsibilities:Paralegal Duties - 70%
- Draft comprehensive wills and trusts utilizing templates, including customized language
- Manage filings for probate, guardianships, and contested matters
- Deliver exceptional customer service, including answering calls, welcoming clients, and addressing client inquiries when appropriate
Supervisory Duties - 30%
- Oversee the Legal Support Team by assigning tasks, prioritizing projects, and assisting with conflict resolution as necessary
- Manage team workload and provide support to staff when needed
- Advise on personnel matters, including hiring, terminations, salaries, promotions, and annual evaluations related to the Legal Support Team
- Offer ongoing training and mentorship to the Legal Support Team
- Develop strategies and plans to achieve team objectives
Experience and Education:
- At least five (5) years of experience in drafting estate planning documents
- A minimum of three (3) years of supervisory experience, preferably within a law firm
- Bachelor's degree in finance, management, legal administration, or a related field
- Paralegal certification
Skills:
- Proven experience and capability to effectively lead and supervise others
- Proficiency in database or case management software and common office technology, with the ability to learn new systems
- Exceptional attention to detail
- Outstanding customer service skills
- Ability to follow instructions and adhere to firm policies
- Capacity to manage complex issues requiring independent judgment and discretion
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and planning skills
- Availability to work in the office Monday through Friday
