This role involves reviewing plans and specifications, conducting bid scope and quantity take-offs, soliciting pricing from subcontractors or suppliers, and completing the bid/estimating effort, including closeout.

Key Responsibilities
  • Communicate with vendors and subcontractors to clarify project scope, materials, schedule requirements, and document clarifications.
  • Prepare bid scopes for projects, including structural concrete, piping systems, mechanical equipment installation, and site civil work.
  • Estimate project costs, including structural concrete, piping systems, mechanical equipment installation, and site civil work.
  • Perform quantity take-offs for water and wastewater piping systems and mechanical equipment for industrial piping and mechanical systems.
  • Lead the internal estimate review process and prepare final assemblies of estimates.
  • Collect and organize bid information for project turnover meetings and assist field operations with change order pricing.
Requirements
  • 3-5 years of construction estimating experience, with a strong background in water/wastewater projects.
  • Ability to read and understand civil, concrete, and mechanical drawings.
  • Bachelor's degree in construction management, mechanical, structural, civil engineering, or a related field.
  • Knowledge of construction principles and processes, including civil activities, steel erection, and equipment installation.
  • Strong math and analytical skills, with advanced knowledge of Excel and estimating software.
  • Ability to work well with all levels of personnel and communicate effectively.
