A Senior Litigation Attorney I is a distinguished legal professional with over 5 years of experience in the field of law, specializing in litigation without a pre-existing client base. The ideal candidate is self-motivated and excels in a supportive yet autonomous environment. This role typically involves receiving a significant portion (around 70%) of work through Gravis Law's marketing initiatives and referrals from colleagues. Additionally, the Senior Litigation Attorney I is expected to independently generate a portion (30%) of their billable hours.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Demonstrated success in mediation and conflict resolution.
- Extensive trial experience with a proven track record.
- Conducting thorough legal research and analysis on intricate legal matters.
- Drafting legal documents, including memorandums, briefs, and correspondence.
- Promoting personal and firm services to potential clients.
- Managing the discovery process for both electronic and physical evidence in preparation for legal proceedings.
- Conducting due diligence across all cases.
- Exhibiting strong communication and advocacy skills, including the ability to listen empathetically.
- Organizing a schedule that accommodates client consultations and achieving production goals, which may involve working outside standard hours.
- Achieving a closure rate of client consultations within the Gravis range of 30-50%, depending on the practice area.
- Ensuring timely approval of invoices to maintain the financial health of the firm.
- Utilizing support staff effectively to maximize productivity.
- Keeping accurate records in the case management system, including fees, client information, and invoices.
- Collaborating with colleagues to manage workload and meet community service objectives.
- Engaging in personal and firm brand enhancement through various platforms and participation in organizations.
- Actively seeking positive feedback from clients and encouraging favorable reviews.
- Performing additional job-related duties as assigned.
The Attorney is expected to bill an average of 1500 hours annually, with collections anticipated on 1400 hours of billed work while maintaining a full-time schedule. This equates to approximately 30 billable hours per week over 50 weeks.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Exceptional writing and interpersonal communication skills.
- Strong legal research capabilities.
- Juris Doctor degree from an ABA-accredited law school.
- Eligibility for bar admission in the state of practice.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience as a practicing attorney.
Equivalent combinations of experience and training that provide the necessary knowledge, skills, and abilities may be considered.
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:
Gravis Law offers a professional work environment with a competitive salary and bonus structure, along with comprehensive benefits, including:
Salary: Total compensation potential ranges from $120,000 to $130,000 annually, inclusive of base salary and bonuses.
Bonus Structure: Attorneys are expected to meet quarterly collection targets, with further details provided upon hiring.
