Catholic Health is recognized for its dedication to education and quality care, serving a diverse patient population. Our facility is equipped to handle a significant volume of patient cases, ensuring that our healthcare professionals are engaged in continuous learning and evidence-based practices.
Key Responsibilities
- The Clinical Dietitian assesses the nutritional needs of patients during their hospital stay and collaborates with the healthcare team to implement effective nutrition strategies.
- Provides comprehensive nutrition education to patients, their families, and caregivers.
- Creates individualized nutrition intervention plans, documents evaluations and care strategies in the electronic medical record, and effectively identifies signs of malnutrition.
- Engages in interdisciplinary meetings, committees, community outreach, and focus groups, promoting effective communication with physicians, medical staff, and nursing personnel.
- A Bachelor's Degree in Nutrition or Dietetics is required; a Master's Degree is preferred.
- Registration with the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics (AND) and completion of an accredited Dietetic Internship program are mandatory. New York State Certified Dietitian Nutritionist (CDN) certification must be obtained within one year of employment.
- Strong computer skills are essential, with familiarity in Hospital Information Management Systems (such as EPIC & CBORD) preferred. Ability to adapt to diverse work assignments in a dynamic environment is necessary.
- A minimum of three to five years of clinical dietetic experience in a hospital environment is required, including one to two years in critical care. Certification as a Certified Nutrition Support Clinician (CNSC) is advantageous.
Compensation
The estimated pay rate for this position is USD $54.89 per hour.
