Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Design Engineering Manager to lead our team of design engineers and CAD designers. The successful candidate will be responsible for communicating requirements clearly to production in the form of CAD drawings and holding direct reports accountable for adhering to established processes and procedures.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Define and improve efficient engineering processes to optimize productivity and quality.
  • Contribute cross-functionally to align all business disciplines.
  • Lead and mentor a collaborative and cohesive team.
  • Manage resources to ensure timely delivery.
  • Put quality controls in place to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Provide technical guidance and oversight for engineering software packages.
  • Guide Design for Manufacturability during the engineering and layout phase.
  • Resolve technical issues and challenges promptly.
  • Acquire and manage technical resources.
  • Identify needs and support recruiting and hiring.
  • Deliver performance feedback and ensure the general well-being of resources.
  • Manage succession planning.

Requirements:

  • BS degree in Engineering or related field with at least 5 years of experience in manufacturing leadership or supervision.
  • Solid experience with product design and manufacturing in a metal fabrication environment.
  • Experience with code welding (ASME, PED, and AWS) is strongly preferred.
  • 3D CAD skills required (preferably SolidWorks).
  • Knowledge of GD&T principles and FEA calculations is preferred.
  • Excellent internal communication skills and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and efficiently manage time and resources.
