About the Role

CUES is a leading developer of water, wastewater, and storm water inspection equipment. We are seeking an experienced Operations Director to join our team and lead our Inspection platform to success.

Key Responsibilities
  • Strategic Planning & Leadership
    • Develop and execute strategic initiatives to improve operating approaches in the delivery of goods and services to the market.
    • Lead the development and management of a Capital Plan to support growth, facilitate new products/processes, lower costs, expand capacity, and meet statutory requirements.
    • Develop and execute annual operating plans that align to growth and profitability objectives, meeting daily, weekly, and monthly customer and financial commitments and SQDC-related KPIs.
    • Partner with other functional leaders to ensure alignment on the New Product Development roadmap and on-time/budget product launches, as well as other strategic growth initiatives.
    • Direct and coordinate operations teams in implementing metrics, process improvements, and organizational changes to drive continuous improvement.
    • Support the SPX acquisitions strategy as a member of the Inspection due diligence team. Evaluate businesses and provide assessments based on Operational fit and opportunity. Lead key integration activities to support smooth transitions and achievement of financial objectives.
    • Continuously review overall supply chain for opportunities to reduce cost while achieving operational goals through low-cost sourcing, value engineering, and other productivity initiatives.
  • Operational Efficiencies & Cost Savings
    • Establish key performance metrics and benchmarks for production/planning/forecasting; measure actual performance against goals on a regular basis, apply expertise to facilitate improvements to relevant systems functionality; and analyze data.
    • Drive the continuous improvement agenda, using Lean and 80/20 approaches, ensuring all team members effectively utilize the principles daily to identify improvement opportunities, problem solve, rapidly implement countermeasures, and sustain solutions that drive advancement of CI culture.
    • Adopt tools and methodologies to address business requirements (such as lean tools, KPIs, production planning methodologies, general operating systems, etc.) and partner to develop and implement business systems for the broader enterprise in conjunction with corporate Operations leaders.
    • Ensure the operations team has a strong safety-conscious work culture including the proactive prevention, investigation, and correction of EH&S related issues.
  • Talent Development
    • Support and drive a performance-based culture through the development and cascading of clear and measurable objectives while ensuring timely formal and informal feedback is provided.
    • Evaluate organizational structure and implement changes to leverage investments in talent. This includes conducting a review of global operations processes to identify improvement opportunities, evaluating role structures, providing growth/development opportunities for strong performers, and improving effectiveness across functions at different sites.
    • Foster a continuous learning environment and ensure best practices, technical tools, and processes are leveraged across the business.
    • Cultivate and develop talent to create a customer-focused, high-performing team that consistently meets and exceeds performance targets while espousing SPX Values of Integrity, Accountability, Excellence, Teamwork, and Results.
