Position Overview:

The Bakery Operations Supervisor is tasked with executing duties as assigned by Store Management and Administrative Management to ensure the effective functioning of the Bakery Department.

This role is essential in guaranteeing that all customers receive premium quality products along with exceptional customer service.


Qualifications:
Education:
High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) is required.

Experience:
Two (2) to four (4) years of relevant experience and/or training in a similar environment.

Language Proficiency:

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety regulations, operating instructions, and procedural manuals. Proficient in writing routine reports and correspondence, with effective communication skills for interaction with customers and staff.


Mathematical Skills:
Competence in calculating figures and amounts, including discounts, interest, and percentages.

Reasoning Skills:

Capability to solve practical issues and manage various concrete variables in situations with limited standardization. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions presented in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Achieve departmental goals in sales and gross profit.
  • Manage and control supply and payroll expenses, inventory, and waste.
  • Ensure adherence to proper accounting procedures, including invoices, transfers, and inventories.
  • Order adequate quantities of raw materials for production and ensure accurate pricing.
  • Maintain product quality and freshness through proper rotation.
  • Oversee the stocking, display, and rotation of bakery products in the sales area, ensuring appealing presentation of seasonal, sale, and demand items.
  • Collaborate with the Store Manager and Bakery Specialist on merchandising, planning, scheduling, sales trends, potential issues, and improvements.
  • Ensure a clean and sanitary department, including sales floor, cases/coolers, and back room.
  • Ensure all Bakery Department employees adhere to company policies and procedures.
  • Oversee the proper and preventative maintenance of all company equipment in the department.
  • Comply with all safety standards as outlined by the company.
  • Work cooperatively with other departments during inter-department or store-wide sales promotions.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the Assistant Store Manager or Store Manager.
Supervisory Duties:
  • Directly supervise Bakery Department employees.
  • Execute supervisory responsibilities in accordance with organizational policies and applicable laws.
  • Responsibilities may include interviewing, hiring, and training employees, planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving issues.
