Job Summary:

Westhab is seeking a highly skilled Psihchiatrist to join our team at the Sackett location in Brooklyn, New York. As a key member of our clinical services team, you will provide high-quality medical and psychiatric services to our clients, ensuring optimal quality care in compliance with current medical practices and regulatory agencies.

Key Responsibilities:

Demonstrate cultural competence and sophistication in delivering healthcare to residents of a 200-bed men's shelter

Prepare psychiatric reports, including mental status exams and comprehensive psychiatric evaluations

Provide short-term or time-sensitive treatment compatible with the shelter stay

Review client assessments to determine progress, effectiveness, and appropriateness of treatment services

Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings to discuss client needs and develop treatment plans

Attend in-service training sessions and staff meetings required by the shelter for continued growth and development

Assist in implementing wellness and trauma-informed practices

Liaise with hospital admission staff to advocate for and coordinate client admissions

Requirements:

Licensed in New York State

Experience in implementing evidence-based treatments, such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy

Acceptable clearance checks for State Central Register and fingerprinting as required by the program

Prior experience working with the homeless population, preferably within a shelter setting

Ability to speak, read, and write Spanish preferred
