Key Responsibilities
  • Assist the Dietician/Dietary Management and Cook as requested
  • Help with meal preparation in accordance with the dietary needs of the residents
  • Assist in serving meals that are palatable and appetizing in appearance
  • Timely setup of meal service and delivery of meal trays and food carts
  • Follow established portion controls and sanitation and food safety guidelines
  • Keep work tables clean, meat blocks, refrigerators/freezers, etc.
  • Sweep and mop floors
  • Dishwash and clean utensils
  • Return clean dishes and utensils to proper storage areas
  • Carry out garbage
  • Dispose of food and waste per facility regulations
  • Obtain food supplies for the next meal
  • Follow safety regulations and precautions at all times
  • Report any occupational exposures to blood, body fluids, or other hazardous materials to a supervisor immediately
  • Adhere to all facility policies and procedures
  • Maintain confidentiality of all pertinent resident care information
Requirements
  • High school diploma or GED preferred
  • Some experience helpful, on-the-job training will be provided
  • Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language
  • Must be able to follow oral and written instructions
Working Conditions

Work environment may be warm. May encounter frequent interruptions. May be involved with residents, family, and government agencies. May be requested to work beyond scheduled working hours at times. Is subject to call-back during emergency conditions. May be necessary to assist in the evacuation of residents during emergency situations.

Physical Requirements

Must be able to move intermittently throughout the day. Must be able to push, pull, move, and/or lift up to 25 lbs. to a minimum height of 5 feet and be able to push, pull, move, and/or carry such weight a minimum distance of 15 feet. Ability to read fine print on labels and menus.
