Job Title: Host/Hostess

At Denny's 8180, we are seeking a highly skilled and customer-focused Host/Hostess to join our team. As a Host/Hostess, you will be the first point of contact for our guests, setting the tone for their dining experience.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Guest Greeting and Seating: Greet guests immediately upon arrival, acknowledge their presence, and seat them in a timely manner.
  • Service Cycle Timing: Demonstrate a sense of urgency and meet service cycle timing standards to ensure seamless guest service.
  • Table Maintenance: Ensure tables are clean, dry, and set with proper seating rotation.
  • Special Needs: Determine and provide for any special needs of guests, such as dietary restrictions or special requests.
  • Guest Waiting List: Maintain a guest waiting list and adhere to proper seating order procedures.
  • Beverage Service: Describe promotions, suggestively sell beverages, and take initial beverage orders.
  • Guest Needs: Attend to any other guest needs during the entire dining experience.
  • Cash Handling: Demonstrate safe cash handling procedures and accurately complete cash, credit card, and discount transactions.
  • Telephone Etiquette: Use proper telephone etiquette when communicating with guests or team members.
  • To-Go Orders: Enter and deliver "To-Go" orders correctly.
  • Complaint Resolution: Address complaints promptly in a courteous manner and notify the supervisor of any issues.
  • Team Support: Assist service personnel in providing beverage orders and refills, clearing and setting tables, and maintaining a clean and organized dining area.
Requirements:
  • Communication: Ability to communicate effectively in English, both orally and in writing.
  • Teamwork: Ability to work in a team environment and maintain a positive attitude.
  • Uniform and Grooming: Meet Denny's uniform and grooming standards and maintain them throughout the shift.
