The Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) is a vital member of our healthcare team, providing high-quality nursing care to patients with common, well-defined health problems. As a LVN, you will work collaboratively with our multidisciplinary team to implement patient care plans, utilizing the nursing process to ensure safe and effective care.
Key Responsibilities- Deliver exceptional nursing care to assigned patients, collecting data and identifying deviations from normal, and assisting with reassessments as needed.
- Accurately document all findings in the patient record and identify expected outcomes based on assessment data, effectively communicating with other healthcare members.
- Implement nursing care interventions identified in the individualized multidisciplinary treatment plan, using accepted standards of practice in collaboration with other healthcare providers.
- Conduct specified bedside laboratory tests, wound care, and provide comfort and assistance with ADLs.
- Promote patients' ability to cope, adapt, and solve situations related to illness and/or stressors.
- Provide supportive, age-appropriate communication and culturally acceptable interventions, and document special needs.
- Ensure safe delivery of medications in accordance with facility policies and physician orders, administering medications using established safety procedures/standards.
- Follow up on patient care responsibilities, communicating incomplete assignments and patient needs with other disciplines to ensure continuity of care.
- Current, valid, and active license to practice as a Licensed Vocational/Practical Nurse in the state of employment at an Oceans Healthcare hospital.
- Valid Compact licenses are also acceptable as they apply.
- High School Diploma or GED is required.
- One year of inpatient hospital experience is strongly preferred.
- Must be able to work in high-stress environments and assess potential for patient escalation.
