Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Physician (Clinical Staff) to join our team at the Veterans Health Administration. As a Staff Physician - SCI Medicine, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care and services in the Spinal Cord Injury (SCI) unit.

Key Responsibilities
  • Admit, evaluate, diagnose, and provide treatment or consultative services to patients in need of SCI care.
  • Perform specialty procedures as delineated in clinical privileges.
  • Participate in the physician on-call rotation.
  • Assist the Service Chief in reviewing interfacility consults and providing consultative services to spoke site providers.
  • Assist the Service Chief in managing the inpatient census and scheduled admissions based on staffing levels.
  • Supervise and evaluate mid-level providers assigned to the service.
Requirements
  • Current, full and unrestricted license to practice medicine or surgery in a State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States, or in the District of Columbia.
  • Residency training approved by the Secretary of Veterans Affairs in an accredited core specialty training program leading to eligibility for board certification.
  • Proficiency in spoken and written English.
  • Preferred Experience: American Board of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation certification and the subspecialty SCI medicine.
