The Patient Relations Specialist plays a crucial role in fostering positive interactions with patients, ensuring effective communication via telephone, managing appointment bookings, facilitating patient registration, and overseeing payment collection. This position is dedicated to delivering exceptional customer service to patients by efficiently handling incoming calls and guiding them through the services offered by Cedars-Sinai Medical Network.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver exemplary customer service by effectively managing call intake, prioritizing patient needs, and resolving inquiries for a multi-specialty healthcare team.
- Welcome patients and assist in addressing their concerns or escalating issues as necessary.
- Conduct patient check-ins and check-outs, collect co-payments, issue receipts, and reconcile payments accurately.
- Ensure the accuracy of patient demographic and insurance information in the CS-Link system.
- Coordinate appointment scheduling, complete patient registration, and maintain a high standard of service.
- Support the management of physician schedules and identify areas for operational enhancement.
- Handle patient-provider correspondence as directed.
- Process and monitor referrals and authorizations across various insurance plans.
- Oversee patient care flow and assist in managing CS-Link message pools and standard workflows.
- Continuously evaluate personal workflow to identify opportunities for improvement.
- Clarify policies, procedures, or services to patients utilizing administrative expertise.
- Engage in daily huddles and team meetings.
- Adhere to infection prevention standards and comply with all departmental policies and procedures.
Qualifications:
Education:
High school diploma or GED preferred.
Experience:
A minimum of two (2) years of experience as a Patient Service Representative in an outpatient medical office environment is preferred.
