Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Anesthesia Technician to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining the anesthesia workroom and equipment, assisting anesthesia providers, and providing specialized equipment as needed.

Key Responsibilities

  • Cleaning and Maintenance
    • Clean and maintain the anesthesia workroom and equipment in all operating rooms and satellite anesthetizing locations
  • Assisting Anesthesia Providers
    • Assist anesthesia providers in the safe and efficient care of patients receiving anesthesia
  • Equipment Support
    • Provide specialized equipment to assist anesthesia staff when appropriate
  • Preparation and Organization
    • Prepare anesthesia machines and carts for use the following day
    • Assemble and prepare intravenous (IV) solutions for anesthesia providers
  • Team Collaboration
    • Work with the perioperative team to ensure prompt OR turnover
  • Specialized Support
    • Assist with difficult airway management by providing equipment needs such as video laryngoscope and fiberoptic intubation cart
    • Prepare age-appropriate anesthesia equipment, monitors, and airway support

Requirements

  • Education
    • A High school diploma or equivalent G.E.D.
  • Experience
    • 1-2 years of work experience in an acute care setting
  • Skills
    • The analytical skills to gather and interpret data in situations in which the information or problems are relatively routine.
    • The ability to exchange information on factual matters, and/or relay messages to appropriate personnel.
    • The ability to communicate effectively with diverse internal and external constituencies.
