Job Title: Full-Time Residential RN

We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to join our team at a community services non-profit organization in the Bronx, NY. This is a permanent, full-time position that offers a competitive salary and benefits package.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing evaluation, diagnosis, and therapeutic intervention to individuals with developmental disabilities in a community-based health services setting. The ideal candidate will have at least one year of experience as a Registered Nurse in a similar setting and be a graduate of an accredited program of professional nursing.

Responsibilities:
  • Develops, supervises implementation of, reviews, and revises each resident's written health care plan.
  • Integrates therapeutic intervention techniques into programs or homes of individuals served through consultation with parent/guardian and staff at team meetings, case conferences, or through other informal contacts.
  • Develops a written plan for each resident to provide nursing services as a part of total habilitation programs.
  • Participates in interdisciplinary team meetings and annual reviews as required by each division.
  • Monitors required staff health records and provides tests in accordance with regulatory agency requirements.
  • Conducts training for staff in medical administration, personal hygiene, basic first aid, dental hygiene, infection control, adaptive equipment, vital signs, signs and symptoms of illness, and other in-services as may be necessary to meet needs of individuals in each residence.
  • Handles control of communicable diseases and infections through identification and assessment, reporting to consulting physician, and implementation of appropriate protective and preventive measures and staff training in regard to infection control.
Requirements:
  • Valid New York State Driver's License is preferred.
  • License and current registration as a Registered Nurse in the State of New York.
  • CPR certification.
