Job Summary:

The Veterinary Assistant plays a vital role in supporting the medical team at Riverside Veterinary Hospital, providing exceptional care to patients and delivering outstanding client service.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist veterinarians and veterinary technicians with medical procedures and patient care.
  • Provide guidance and support to support staff to ensure a smooth shift operation.
  • Conduct patient care under the supervision of a licensed veterinarian.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed medical records.
  • Communicate effectively with clients regarding medical information and procedures.
  • Participate in ongoing training and professional development to stay up-to-date with best practices and new technologies.
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous experience in the veterinary industry.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and remain calm under pressure.
  • Knowledge of laboratory, pharmacy, radiology, surgery, dental, and nursing skills.
  • Ability to administer SQ, IM, and IV injections.
  • Knowledge of prescription drugs and ability to explain their usage, dosage, and side effects to clients.
