Position Overview
The VP of Public Relations will report directly to the CEO and will be responsible for guiding the public relations team leaders to ensure exceptional service for our clients. This role will shape strategic initiatives for each account, actively pursue new media opportunities, and deliver crisis management strategies for our partners.
This executive position will provide mentorship and support to the Directors of Communications, ensuring they receive the guidance necessary to lead their respective client strategies effectively. The VP will also engage with Account Managers and Publicity Specialists to maintain high levels of client satisfaction and service quality. Additionally, this role will focus on cultivating and expanding relationships with media professionals, including writers, editors, journalists, and producers.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop strategic plans for client accounts and identify growth opportunities.
- Lead, mentor, and manage the Directors of Communication to ensure excellence and professional growth.
- Conduct research and analyze trends within the public relations sector and specific client industries.
- Provide crisis management support and strategic guidance to clients and account teams.
- Regularly assess client satisfaction through check-ins and feedback.
- Review and approve communication materials and oversee client reporting processes.
- Facilitate weekly team and client meetings as necessary.
- Collaborate with the President of Prolific and industry experts to enhance team capabilities.
- Ensure quality control of services delivered by the public relations team.
- Work collaboratively across Prolific companies, integrating efforts with other agencies and clients.
- Expand the network of media contacts by engaging with professionals across various sectors.
Qualifications
- Master's or Bachelor's degree in Public Relations, Strategic Communications, or a related discipline.
- A minimum of 10 years of substantial experience in public relations and communications.
- Extensive media connections, particularly in Non-Profit, Higher Education, Government, and Faith sectors are preferred.
