Overview:

The Quality Technician will be an integral part of the Transfer Quality Team, focusing on critical projects involving plant transitions and product relocations. This role will operate under the guidance of a Quality Project Manager and will collaborate closely with a Quality Engineer.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Engage in CAD-centric tasks, including gage and fixture design, as well as the creation of inspection drawings.
  2. Support Quality Engineers in various activities such as gage design, calibration, and inspection planning.
  3. Utilize advanced technical measurement tools and software for precise data analysis.
  4. Revise and develop gages for the evaluation of legacy transfer products.
  5. Create 3D models for CMM fixtures and gage design concepts through innovative 3D printing techniques.
  6. Assist in CMM inspections by providing necessary fixtures and CAD files.
  7. Generate 2D DXF files for digital overlays, specifically for components like screws and nails.
  8. Collaborate with Quality Engineers on ECR tasks, particularly concerning inspection documentation.
  9. Conduct part inspections, including First Articles and Process Development, adhering to established quality standards.
  10. Mentor colleagues in CAD skills relevant to gage and fixture design.
  11. Communicate with internal teams and suppliers to ensure compliance with design specifications.
  12. Perform R&R studies to validate the reliability of gauging systems.
  13. Interpret GD&T principles to enhance gauge and product designs, providing technical support as needed.
  14. Be adaptable to cross-training opportunities within various Quality Control functions.
  15. Conduct CMM operations and programming as required.

This position demands a proactive approach to quality assurance and a commitment to excellence in manufacturing practices.
