Position Overview:
The Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing the activities of the designated division. This role encompasses various aspects, including customer service, safety protocols, operational efficiency, and comprehensive personnel management within the division. The position also entails managing revenue and cost factors, necessitating collaboration with sales and marketing efforts alongside daily operational tasks.
Key Responsibilities:
• Supervise the operational functions of the division.
• Ensure accountability for performance, safety, and profitability across the business unit.
• Monitor budgetary and operational metrics while identifying and enhancing processes, procedures, and overall performance.
• Implement necessary measures to guarantee safety and compliance with company and regulatory standards.
• Collaborate with the Health and Safety team to conduct thorough investigations into all injuries and incidents, ensuring consistent follow-up and retraining as needed.
• Work closely with the HR department to manage the personnel requirements of the division, including recruitment, coaching, disciplinary actions, training, and performance evaluations.
• Participate in regular profit and loss reviews to ensure budget adherence; develop and implement strategies for optimal equipment utilization, maintenance, and management of labor and material costs.
• Provide leadership and guidance to supervisors and direct reports within the division.
• Attend and manage all Health and Safety meetings, providing training on safety-related issues to employees.
• Review employee timecards daily for accuracy.
• Assist in the development of business plans for tenders and new business opportunities.
• Attend necessary meetings as required.
• Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures among all employees.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
• A university diploma or degree in business or equivalent professional experience is required.
• A minimum of 5 years in an Operations Manager capacity.
• Extensive experience and knowledge in the Environmental Waste Management sector.
Skills and Attributes:
• Demonstrated leadership capabilities with a talent for motivating and inspiring teams.
• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong planning, prioritization, and execution abilities.
• Comprehensive understanding of operational processes.
• Proficient computer skills.
• Excellent teamwork capabilities.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to listen and adapt to change.
