Job Summary:

As an Intraoperative Neuromonitoring Specialist at MPOWERHealth, you will play a critical role in ensuring the highest level of patient care during surgical procedures. Your expertise in electrophysiological testing and monitoring will help reduce the incidence of stroke, paresthesia, impotence, incontinence, and paralysis as post-operative surgical outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform preoperative assessments of patients and conduct intraoperative sensory and motor tests using currently accepted electrophysiological techniques.
  • Compile and interpret real-time data, completing post-operative reports and billing forms.
  • Provide patient consultation, explaining test procedures to patients and their families.
  • Measure and apply electrodes accurately, according to the international 10-20 Electrode Placement System.
  • Calibrate, evaluate, and adjust equipment to optimize recording and stimulation parameters.
  • Implement troubleshooting methods to ensure accurate recording of information.
  • Interact with the surgical team and surgeons to provide interpretive data regarding patients' neurological status.
  • Identify and eliminate physiological and non-physiological artifacts.
  • Document significant events and stages of surgery, completing IOM logs, files, and work/technical sheets.

Requirements:
  • CNIM or CNIM-eligible certification.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Minimum of a Bachelor's degree or higher.
  • Current AHA CPR certification.

Working Conditions:
  • Possible exposure to communicable diseases and hazardous materials.
  • Variable work schedules, including occasional/frequent travel by motor vehicle and/or air transportation.
  • Physical demands include lifting and transporting 40-45lbs of monitoring equipment.
