Position: Additive Manufacturing Technician I

Located at MIMO Technik's Additive Manufacturing facility, the Additive Manufacturing Technician I plays a crucial role in operating and maintaining various Selective Laser Melting (SLM) platforms utilizing diverse alloys. This position involves supporting the Additive Manufacturing Manager and the Production team in achieving operational goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Adhere to all safety protocols related to Additive Manufacturing, promoting a culture of safety.
  • Prepare and set up additive print jobs meticulously to ensure optimal outcomes.
  • Operate a range of metal 3D printing machines; prior experience with EOS, SLM, DMG, or Renishaw is advantageous, but training will be provided.
  • Diagnose and resolve mechanical, optical, electrical, and laser-related issues during the build process.
  • Conduct printer calibrations and analyze results in collaboration with the Engineering team.
  • Perform independent inspections to verify part conformity and print specifications.
  • Develop and adhere to work orders, procedures, and specifications, ensuring thorough communication of any discrepancies.
  • Execute routine maintenance tasks as directed by Engineering.
  • Provide feedback for process enhancements and collaborate with Engineering on solutions.
  • Assist Engineers in the setup and production of 3D prints and new components.
  • Initiate issue tickets for any non-conformances in processes or products.
  • Champion the Additive Internal 5S system, fostering sustainability within the department.
  • Utilize precision measurement tools (micrometers, calipers, etc.) to guarantee high-quality inputs and outputs, including inspections post-printing and post-processing.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in a manufacturing, fabrication, assembly, or testing environment.
  • High School diploma or GED required.
  • Skilled in using hand, power, and pneumatic tools.
  • Familiarity with inspection techniques, including the use of surface plates and calipers.
  • Experience operating machine tools such as vertical mills, lathes, and forklifts is beneficial.
  • Most importantly, bring a strong work ethic and a commitment to excellence.

Preferred Skills:

  • At least 1 year of experience with metal 3D printers and knowledge of related safety protocols.
  • Proficient in office software, including Excel and Word.
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings effectively.

Additional Requirements:

  • Capability to work at heights and in confined spaces.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. without assistance.
  • Flexibility to work overtime and adjust to varying shift schedules as necessary.
  • Willingness to handle potentially hazardous materials, with appropriate safety gear provided.
  • Attention to detail when working with sensitive instruments and equipment.

Compensation:

The expected salary range for this position is $24.00 to $30.00 USD per hour, with overtime compensation at 1.5 times the base rate. Annual salary including overtime is projected between $45,760 and $74,040 USD.
