Position Overview:

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Manage the operations of the Accounting Department, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general accounting, credit, and payroll.
  • Direct staff training initiatives and assess training requirements.
Duties/Responsibilities:
  • Conduct month-end financial statement closures on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis in compliance with GAAP.
  • Examine transactions and prepare data visualizations in tables and graphs.
  • Maintain fixed asset accounting and related schedules.
  • Secure financing for new fixed asset acquisitions.
  • Perform reconciliations of balance sheet accounts.
  • Oversee the sales tax process across multiple jurisdictions.
  • Assist in gathering data and preparing schedules for the annual audit.
  • File quarterly and annual reports to uphold business licenses.
  • Facilitate the annual renewal of business insurance.
  • Ensure adherence to local, state, and federal regulatory requirements.
  • Establish and uphold accounting policies and procedures for departmental functions and cross-training.
  • Carry out other related tasks as necessary.
Requirements:
  • Strong supervisory capabilities.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively within a team.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Outstanding organizational and time management abilities.
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel.
  • Familiarity with accounting software.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar applications.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Capacity to meet deadlines with attention to detail.
Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting and prior experience in construction accounting is essential.
  • A minimum of 2 years in a supervisory capacity.
  • At least 3 years of experience in accounting.
Physical Requirements:
  • Extended periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be capable of lifting up to 15 pounds occasionally.
