Position: Production Technician
Location: Chestertown, MD
Department: Production Lab
Shift: 1st Shift - 7:00 AM to 3:15 PM (Monday - Friday)
Reporting To: Value Stream Manager
Key Responsibilities:As a Production Technician, your primary responsibilities will include:
- Preparing reagents following established procedures and prioritizing tasks accordingly.
- Operating and maintaining all manufacturing equipment, ensuring proper training is adhered to.
- Keeping accurate records of machine performance and product samples.
- Assisting with daily equipment setups as required.
- Participating in designated shift meetings to discuss production goals.
- Ensuring production rates and quality standards are met, addressing any obstacles that may arise.
- Transporting products using pallet jacks and carts.
In addition to the above, you will:
- Engage in lean initiatives, including training and events such as kaizen.
- Participate in the 5-S program within your department or assigned areas.
- Continuously seek improvements in departmental efficiencies and time management.
- Complete monthly safety observations and report any issues to supervisors.
- Provide feedback to management regarding training needs and pursue additional training as necessary.
- Assist in various departmental activities and perform other assigned duties.
- Adhere to all company policies, including safety and personnel regulations.
To be considered for this role, candidates should possess:
- A high school diploma or equivalent; experience in chemistry or chemical handling is preferred.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and manual dexterity.
- Excellent attention to detail and multitasking abilities.
- Good judgment, decision-making, and troubleshooting skills.
- The ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
- Effective communication skills, particularly with production personnel and other departments.
- The capability to transport items weighing up to 40-50 lbs.
- The ability to wear a chemical cartridge respirator or equivalent protective gear.
This position requires working indoors in a controlled environment, involving various physical activities such as walking, standing, and lifting. You will handle chemicals, some of which may be hazardous, necessitating the use of safety equipment.
