About the Role

The Resident Advisor will provide direct support and care to residents of Freedom Commons, ensuring a safe and positive atmosphere. This role will serve as a liaison between residents, staff, and guests, providing security and safety for all.

Key Responsibilities
  • Establish and maintain rapport with residents, treating each with respect and dignity.
  • Monitor and maintain a safe and supportive environment, utilizing resources to provide a positive change.
  • Conduct regular rounds, monitor security cameras, and perform safety inspections.
  • Respond to emergencies, contact outside response personnel, and document incidents.
  • Coordinate cleanliness and maintenance, gather work orders, and perform light duties.
  • Conduct searches, document findings, and notify supervisors.
  • Provide support to the Case Manager and perform conflict resolution, crisis intervention, and counseling as needed.
  • Assist with social activities, lead resident meetings, and facilitate orientation and safety training.
  • Attend training and meetings, complete required forms, and maintain confidentiality.
Requirements
  • High School diploma/equivalent and at least two years of relevant work experience.
  • Comparable work and life experience will be considered.
  • Solid computer skills, including case management database knowledge and two-way device use.
  • Background check required.
  • Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, and CPR/First Aid certification a plus.
  • Previous Security/Fire-EMS experience and bilingualism (English/Spanish) preferred.
  • Ability to multitask, think critically, and demonstrate sensitivity and compassion.
  • Flexible and able to maintain a calm, professional presence in stressful situations.
