Job Title: Patient Representative

At Methodist Health System, we are seeking a highly skilled Patient Representative to join our team. As a Patient Representative, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our front office, providing exceptional patient care, and maintaining the highest level of customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintain strict confidentiality and handle sensitive patient information with discretion.
  • Greets patients in a prompt, courteous, and helpful manner, verifying and updating demographic and insurance information to the medical record.
  • Registers new patients into the computer system, verifies addresses, telephone numbers, and insurance information, and collects payments and enters charges into the system.
  • Answers telephone calls, screens messages, and conveys information to appropriate parties, demonstrating proficiency with medical office technology systems.
  • Maintains a clean and organized work area, adhering to OSHA regulations and following established policies and procedures.
Requirements:
  • High school education or equivalent.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to speak clearly and concisely.
  • Knowledge of front office procedures and medical terminology.
  • Previous experience in a front office setting, preferably with medical management software.
  • Typing or data entry experience at 40 wpm.
Working Conditions:

Work is performed in an office environment, requiring frequent contact with employees and outside agencies. Continual patient contact may involve dealing with angry and upset people.
