Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced CDL Instructor to join our team at Driving Academy. As a CDL Instructor, you will be responsible for teaching students the skills needed to operate commercial vehicles safely and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities
  • Instruct students in the safe operation of CDL vehicles, including tractor trailers and buses
  • Teach students how to conduct pre-trip and in-cab inspections, as well as how to park CDL vehicles using various methods
  • Ensure students are familiar with the controls, gauges, and components of CDL vehicles
  • Prepare materials for simulator program lessons, assignments, and tests, and evaluate student performance
  • Track and assign student time in vehicles, and collaborate with management to develop and implement safety policies and procedures
  • Conduct routine inspections on vehicles, and maintain required paperwork for individual student/yard files and other necessary records
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Valid Commercial Driver's License and clean driving record required
  • Class A License preferred
  • Two years of relevant experience
  • Fluency in multiple languages preferred
  • Teaching or law enforcement background desirable
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions
  • Ability to climb in and out of trucks and buses
  • Prolonged ability to stand
  • Prolonged periods of riding in a vehicle
  • Physical ability to operate a vehicle
  • Ability to look beneath trucks and buses
  • Ability to see near and far details
  • Must be able to lift at least 25 pounds at a time
