Seeking an experienced and skilled Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist to join our dynamic team at UNC Health Care.

About the Role

This is a full-time position with a 36-hour workweek, offering a competitive salary of $92.11 - $130.71 per hour based on experience and internal equity.

Job Description

Overview:

Anesthetizes patients undergoing surgical, medical, obstetrical, diagnostic, psychiatric, or resuscitative procedures either by general, regional, or monitored anesthesia.

Responsibilities:

  1. Patient Assessment: Assess patient pre-operatively in a timely and efficient manner, including performance of history and physical, development of anesthesia plan of care, documentation of assessment and plan, explanation of care, risks, and benefits to patient and family.
  2. Continuing Education: Attend continuing education and professional meetings, participate in institutional and departmental committees, and contribute to the clinical learning experience of other healthcare professionals.
  3. Performance Improvement: Contribute to performance improvement by evaluating problem areas, planning and implementing measures to assure improvement in patient outcomes, assisting in collection of data, and participating in Impact Care activities.
  4. Record Maintenance: Maintain anesthesia records, Impact Care reports, and other documents in a legible manner.
  5. Anesthesia Provision: Provide anesthesia, including performing ASA-approved checklist of equipment, providing a safe environment for patients, administering anesthesia in accordance with Department of Anesthesiology standards of care, placing appropriate lines and monitors, adjusting care, and notifying personnel in abnormal situations.
Requirements

Education: Completion of a Nurse Anesthesia program accredited by the American Association of Nurse Anesthetists (AANA).

Licensure/Certification: Certified or eligible for certification by the American Association of Nurse Anesthetist and licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse in the state of North Carolina.

Professional Experience: No prior experience required.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: Knowledge of anesthesia principles, skills in patient assessment and communication, and ability to work effectively in a team environment.
