Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Cyber Systems Engineering Senior Advisor to join our team at Peraton. As a key member of our Cyber Mission Business Unit, you will play a critical role in supporting a critical mission of consequence.

Responsibilities
  • Security Scanning and Risk Mitigation: Perform security scans to identify vulnerabilities and risks, and work with the Engineering team to mitigate the risks.
  • System Security Design and Implementation: Validate and verify system security requirements definitions and analysis, and establish system security designs. Design, develop, implement, and/or integrate IA and security systems and system components.
  • Information Assurance and Security: Build IA into systems deployed to operational environments. Assist architects and systems developers in the identification and implementation of appropriate information security functionality.
  • Security Threat Assessment and Mitigation: Assess and mitigate system security threats/risks throughout the program life cycle.
  • Security Planning and Certification: Contribute to the security planning, assessment, risk analysis, risk management, certification, and awareness activities for system and networking operations.
  • Documentation Review and Feedback: Review certification and accreditation (C&A) documentation, providing feedback on completeness and compliance of its content.
  • System Security Engineering Expertise: Apply system security engineering expertise in one or more of the following areas: system security design process, engineering life cycle, information domain, cross domain solutions, commercial off-the-shelf and government off-the-shelf cryptography, identification, authentication, and authorization, system integration, risk management, intrusion detection, contingency planning, incident handling, configuration control, change management, auditing, certification and accreditation process, principles of IA (confidentiality, integrity, non-repudiation, availability, and access control), and security testing.
  • Security Authorization Activities: Support security authorization activities in compliance with government Information System Certification and Accreditation Process and DoD Risk Management Framework (DoDRMF), NIST Risk Management Framework (RMF) process, and prescribed government business processes for security engineering.
Qualifications
  • Active TS/SCI with Polygraph: Active TS/SCI with polygraph is required.
  • Seventeen Years of Experience: Seventeen (17) years of experience as a SE in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity is required.
  • Bachelor's Degree: Bachelor's degree in System Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering Science, Engineering Management, or related discipline from an accredited college or university is required.
  • Additional Experience: Five (5) years of additional SE experience may be substituted for a bachelor's degree.
Desired Qualifications
  • DoD 8570 Compliance: DoD 8570 compliance with IASAE Level 3, CISSP-ISSEP, is a plus but not required.
