Position Overview

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in providing comprehensive planning and repair support for facility management and specialized design, particularly in remote and hazardous environments with generator power distribution systems.
  • Oversee base maintenance operations; develop and implement procedures and policies for electrical distribution management.
  • Assess and identify facility needs related to unit relocations, realignments, and equipment installations and de-installations.
  • Work closely with hardware and software engineers to create, coordinate, and evaluate modeling and simulation studies for hardware and software systems.
  • Analyze the impacts of outputs and design interfaces across various systems.
  • Conduct engineering tasks involving analysis, design, or testing that require the application of advanced techniques and methodologies.
  • Prepare engineering assessments for construction initiatives, including preliminary designs, calculations, lifecycle costs, and equipment selection.
  • Provide expert guidance on mitigating electromagnetic interference associated with electrical and power distribution systems.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited institution, with a minimum of 6 years of diverse engineering experience in medium or low voltage power systems, including integration and maintenance.
  • Proficient in the installation and upkeep of low voltage (480/220) 50/60 Hz single and multi-phase wiring.
  • Experience in electrical engineering within an architectural or engineering consulting environment.
  • Familiarity with contracting and construction management is preferred.
  • Experience in the operation, maintenance, and repair of physical plant systems, including campus-style power generation and distribution systems.
  • Application engineering experience in the design, installation, operation, and maintenance of power generation, distribution, and grounding systems.
  • Knowledge of uninterruptible power supplies (UPS) for data processing and communication equipment.
  • Ability to conduct critical engineering reviews of construction project data submissions.
  • Capability to contribute to long-term facility management and information management planning.
  • Understanding of power and grounding principles and techniques.
  • Professional registration is advantageous but not mandatory.
  • Fluency in English, with the ability to read, write, and comprehend technical documentation.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen with the ability to obtain a Final Top-Secret Clearance based on a TIER 5 Background Investigation.
  • Some roles may require a Counterintelligence (CI) Scope Polygraph.
