Position Overview

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in master planning and repair initiatives for facility management and specialized design, particularly in remote and hazardous environments equipped with generator power distribution systems.
  • Oversee base maintenance operations and establish protocols for electrical distribution planning.
  • Analyze facility requirements related to unit relocations, realignments, and equipment transitions.
  • Work in tandem with hardware and software engineers to develop, coordinate, and evaluate modeling and simulation studies.
  • Assess the implications of outputs and design interfaces across various systems.
  • Conduct engineering tasks involving analysis, design, or testing, utilizing advanced techniques and methodologies.
  • Prepare comprehensive engineering analyses for construction projects, including preliminary designs, calculations, lifecycle costs, and equipment selection.
  • Advise on strategies to mitigate electromagnetic interference associated with electrical and power distribution systems.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited institution, accompanied by a minimum of 6 years of diverse engineering experience in medium or low voltage power systems.
  • Proficient in the installation and maintenance of low voltage (480/220) 50/60 Hz single and multi-phase wiring.
  • Experience in electrical engineering within an architectural or engineering consulting environment.
  • Familiarity with contracting and construction management is preferred.
  • Background in plant operations, maintenance, and repair of physical plant systems, including campus-level power generation and distribution.
  • Application engineering experience in the design, installation, operation, and maintenance of power generation, distribution, and grounding systems.
  • Knowledge of uninterruptible power supplies (UPS) for data processing and communications equipment.
  • Capability to perform critical engineering reviews of construction project data submissions.
  • Ability to contribute to long-term facility management and information management planning.
  • Solid understanding of power and grounding principles and techniques.
  • Professional registration is advantageous but not mandatory.
  • Fluency in English, with the ability to read, write, and comprehend technical documentation.
  • Must be a US Citizen with the ability to obtain a Final Top-Secret Clearance based on a TIER 5 Background Investigation.
  • Some roles may necessitate a Counterintelligence (CI) Scope Polygraph, particularly those requiring access to sensitive information.
