About the Role

This on-site position is open to qualified applicants in the United States. The ideal candidate will be local to Hartford, Connecticut, or willing to relocate to Hartford. The successful candidate will be part of Cognizant's Cloud, Infrastructure, and Security Services Practice (CIS), which drives digital transformation by modernizing infrastructure and workplaces to meet the evolving needs of the digital era.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform technical analysis of system issues and outages across customer enterprise networks.
  • Research and resolve issues or escalate to higher-level systems administrators and network engineers.
  • Rack and stack network devices, switches, routers, and firewalls at customer data centers and MDF/IDF closets.
  • Implement DNS changes in Infoblox and F5 load balancers.
  • Handle proactive alerts from network switches, wireless access points, firewalls, and internet links, and resolve issues before impact.
  • Provide timely responses to incidents, outages, and performance alerts.
  • Recognize, identify, and prioritize incidents in accordance with customer business requirements, interpersonal policies, and operational impact.
  • Collect and review performance reports for various systems and report trends in hardware and application performance to assist senior technical personnel in predicting future issues or outages.
  • Supervise a wide range of information and network systems, including telecommunications circuits, LAN/WAN systems, routers, switches, firewalls, VoIP systems, servers, storage, backup, operating systems, and core applications.
  • Document all actions in accordance with standard company policies and procedures.
  • Advise customers and third-party service providers of issues, outages, and remediation status.
  • Work with internal and external technical and service teams to build and/or update knowledge base articles.
  • Perform basic systems testing and operational tasks, such as installation of patches, network connectivity testing, script execution, etc.
  • Support multiple technical teams in environment operational environments with high uptime requirements.
Requirements
  • At least 8 years of work experience.
  • Required certifications: Network Analyst certified.
Compensation and Benefits

The annual salary for this position is between $91,000 to $120,000, depending on experience and qualifications. This position is also eligible for Cognizant's discretionary annual incentive program and stock awards, based on performance and subject to applicable plans. Benefits include medical, dental, vision, life insurance, paid holidays, paid time off, 401(k) plan, long-term/short-term disability, paid parental leave, and employee stock purchase plan.
