Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop Linux-based infrastructure and cloud solutions to meet CVS Health's operational and business requirements.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to certify, define, and document OS and image standards for open source/open systems hardware.
  • Determine hardware and OS requirements and evaluate potential solutions to ensure compatibility with CVS Linux derivatives and business requirements.
  • Conduct research and analysis to identify the latest technology trends and apply them to enhance the Linux OS and infrastructure.
  • Create and maintain comprehensive documentation of Linux standards and best practices.
  • Troubleshoot complex OS-related issues, including containers and OpenShift environments.
  • Collaborate with peer groups, such as software developers and security teams, to ensure the integrity, performance, and reliability of Linux-based systems.
  • Establish KPIs and perform analysis of Linux-based cloud systems to identify areas of improvement and implement optimization strategies.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to develop and enforce Linux security policies, procedures, and standards.
  • Participate in the planning, configuration, and deployment of new Linux-based solutions and technologies, including kernel tuning.
Requirements
  • 7+ years' experience in Linux system administration and related tools, with a strong understanding of Linux operating systems (kernel level), network protocols, and security.
  • 5+ years of experience with Redhat Containers and OpenShift, including public and private clouds.
  • Experience with Linux Operating System Engineering or similar roles involving a strong focus on secure build, patching, and updating.
  • Strong scripting skills in languages such as Python, Bash, or Perl to develop automation tools and frameworks.
