The ideal candidate will demonstrate exceptional verbal, written, and interpersonal communication abilities, coupled with a strategic mindset, proactive approach, and the capacity to remain composed under pressure. A genuine passion for the hospitality industry is essential.
This role is based at the corporate office of Mattos Hospitality. Availability during evenings and weekends is a prerequisite.
Experience with Resy and OpenTable is highly desirable.
The Reservationist will be responsible for managing reservations, cancellations, and inquiries from our guests, in addition to performing various administrative tasks. You will collaborate closely with the front-of-house and management teams across Mattos Hospitality restaurants to ensure that every guest enjoys a memorable dining experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as the initial point of contact, establishing a welcoming atmosphere for all guests and ensuring they receive professional service.
- Manage incoming guest inquiries and reservation requests via email and multiple phone lines with courtesy and efficiency.
- Utilize Resy and OpenTable to facilitate reservations and organize seating arrangements.
- Possess a solid understanding of how to optimize the reservation system to maximize seating capacity.
- Address customer concerns and complaints with a positive and prompt response.
- Coordinate with restaurant staff regarding reservation details and guest preferences, assisting the team with guest recognition.
- Communicate with guests to confirm reservations and accommodate special requests.
- Assist with large party bookings and event inquiries as needed.
- Perform additional light administrative tasks as required.
- A minimum of one year of experience in a host, Maitre'd, or reservations role within NYC restaurants.
- Proficiency in using Resy and OpenTable.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, etc.).
- Ability to communicate professionally and effectively.
- A collaborative team player.
- Flexible availability is essential.
