Position: Loan Portfolio Manager

Role Summary

The Loan Portfolio Manager plays a critical role in supporting designated commercial loan officers and managing the associated loan portfolios. This position involves conducting thorough assessments of the creditworthiness of prospective loan applicants as well as current client relationships. The Portfolio Manager will collaborate with loan officers to gather essential information from borrowers, evaluating the strengths and weaknesses of all parties involved to facilitate informed credit decisions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver comprehensive analytical support for assigned loan portfolios promptly.
  • Evaluate business and personal financial documents, cash flow statements, and tax returns utilizing the Bank's software tools.
  • Underwrite new loan applications and manage renewals.
  • Enhance analysis with data sourced from various platforms including the Bank's systems, the Internet, Dunn & Bradstreet, RMA, CoStar, and relevant market databases to assess client, competitor, and industry risks.
  • Proactively monitor financial covenant requirements within the assigned portfolio.
  • Assist loan officers with modifications to client credit requests and the annual renewal process, while actively tracking and requesting necessary client financial reports.
  • Perform additional duties as required.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance, or 3-5 years of relevant experience in a financial services environment.
Required Skills
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple tasks with minimal supervision.
  • Strong analytical capabilities and underwriting experience are essential.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
Preferred Skills
  • In-depth understanding of various financial statement types and formats.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of financial analysis for conducting annual reviews.
  • Ability to support and justify decisions regarding recommended credit structures and analyses.
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, in a clear and concise manner.
  • Experience in underwriting for Commercial Real Estate (CRE) and Commercial & Industrial (C&I) loans is highly desirable.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to sit, stand, kneel, and bend for extended periods.
  • Capability to operate a computer keyboard, mouse, and other related equipment.
  • Ability to communicate and exchange information with all levels of staff.
  • Ability to observe and identify relevant data.
  • Willingness to travel as necessary.
